College planning with the whole student in mind

Personalized guidance for families navigating college readiness, support options, gap years, and successful transitions for students with ADHD, autism, and learning differences.

Navigating the path to college and beyond
I’m Kim Starkman. As a speech-language pathologist and a mother to three neurodivergent children, I help families find the colleges and transition programs where students with learning differences, ADHD, ASD and other learning differences don’t just fit in—they thrive.
Drawing on my clinical background as a speech-language pathologist and my lived experience as a parent of neurodivergent children, I guide students and families through the complexities of post-secondary transitions.

We start with a conversation about your child’s strengths, challenges, goals, and current supports.
We’ll review your child’s unique processing style, social communication, and self-advocacy skills, along with relevant neuropsychological evaluations, 504 Plans, and IEPs, to understand their needs and strengths.
You’ll leave with a written roadmap built around your child specifically, including the schools or programs worth pursuing, the accommodations to request, and the self-advocacy skills they’ll need, so the transition out of high school feels like a plan, not a leap of faith.

A first conversation can bring a lot of clarity
You don’t have to figure this out alone. I’m here to make the journey feel less overwhelming and help your family move forward with clarity, confidence, and compassion.
No preparation required. Just a conversation.
